Associate Accountant - Gore
Full-time, Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
We are currently seeking an Associate Accountant to join our Gore office. This is a key role with responsibility for
managing your own client fee base, providing high-quality accounting and advisory services, and mentoring junior staff.
The Role
As an Associate Accountant, you will:
- Act as the main contact for your client portfolio.
- Review annual accounts, GST returns, and taxation returns, and oversee staff preparing these.
- Prepare budgets.
- Liaise with clients and external parties including banks, solicitors, and Inland Revenue.
- Provide business advisory services, including restructuring and planning support.
- Guide, train, and review the work of accountants and administration staff where required.
- Support practice improvement initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
- Achieve billing targets and ensure compliance with New Zealand tax, ACC, and Companies Office requirements.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant qualification (AT, ACA, CA, or CA with public practice certificate).
- Proven experience in public practice, including managing a client portfolio.
- Strong technical knowledge of the NZ tax system, Companies Office obligations, and business legislation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Confidence in mentoring and supporting junior team members.
Preferred (but not essential):
- Experience in rural or agribusiness accounting.
- Familiarity with Xero, IRD portals, Microsoft 365, and FYI.

Office Administrator - Gore
Full-time, Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
We are currently seeking an Office Administrator to join our Gore office. This is a key role supporting both our partners and professional staff by managing invoicing, compliance administration, and general office operations.
The Role
As an Office Administrator, you will:
- Prepare and send monthly invoicing across designated partners and entities.
- Manage debtor records and liaise with debt collection services when required.
- File Companies Office annual returns and manage Companies Office administration
- Provide ACC client services and support queries.
- Issue engagement letters and manage Fusesign processes.
- Provide reception cover and carry out general office duties.
- Maintain website updates and support internal systems.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in administration or office support.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in invoicing and compliance.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems (iFirm, Fusesign, Companies Office, FYI).
- Professional communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, organised, and team-focused approach.
Preferred (but not essential):
- Experience in a professional services environment.
- Understanding of Companies Office or compliance requirements.
