Our History

Our History

Macdonald Perniskie, through the purchase of I G Elder's practice in Gore, can trace its roots back to the original "Farm Accounting" practice in Southland that was a major supplier of accounting services to the rural community in the early part of the 20th Century.

The modern version of the practice was established on the 1st of January 1990 when Alan Macdonald purchased the "Ivan Elder" Practice from what was then Broad Christie and Partners.

The practice grew with the acquisition of further practices from Dick Goodson, Stuart Grieve and Murray Allot, who were all sole practitioners in Gore.

In 2002 Jack Perniskie, a senior manager of the firm joined the practice and in 2006 was instrumental in merging the practice of his father, Perniskie Accounting Services of Winton, with the firm.

Macdonald Perniskie currently comprises of seven partners and twenty-eight staff members with offices in Gore, Balclutha, Winton and Queenstown.
